Upside Down Mind (2015)

A series of mixed media drawings that examine the (continuing) colonial mind. The title is borrowed from the term used by the Sinixt First Nation to identify European colonists at the time of settlement in the territory in which I live in British Columbia. The meaning and implications herein have been the reference point for this study. Photographed images of decaying surfaces are used as a material in an acrylic emulsion printing technique. Collage, pen, ink and text are integrated.
